Aconcagua - Highest peak of the southern and western hemispheres

Immersed in the “Parque Provincial Aconcagua”, in full Andes, the Northern Peak of Cerro Aconcagua opens up to the sky at 6,962 m / 22,841 ft. Known as the "Stone Sentinel" its huge height defies every year mountaineers from around the world. The trekking route to reach the Plaza de Mulas, the main base camp, is also a MOSTPOINT. The Aconcagua, being the highest of the South American continent, is one of the 7 summits of the 7 continents. These seven together represent one of the most impressive MOSTPOINTS in the world. Technically its normal route, the North, is considered relatively easy but with the aggravation of altitude sickness and cold, often underestimated. Other major routes are the Polish Glacier Traverse Route and the Polish Glacier itself. The Aconcagua was first conquered in 1897.
