Many argue that the westernmost continental point of the 48 contiguous states of the United States is located in Oregon, specifically at Cape Blanco, but this privilege belongs to Cape Alava, located about 10’ farther west than the above.

This MOSTPOINT is located in the Olympic National Park, World Heritage Site, and isInternational Biosphere Reserve.

What else is there
Olympic National Park offers attractive hiking trails, including one that passes the Ozette Indian Reservation with its fantastic wild beach. All of them allow you to exercise body and mind while enjoying incredible views. Note that Highway 101 is only bordering the park and thereof there are very few accesses to the interior so the most spectacular views require long-distance walks. But the effort is surely worthwhile. Among the highlights are the Olympus (7,966 ft / 2,428 m), and Crescent Lake in which you can swim, row or enjoy a relaxed picnic. Also there are different accommodations, comfortable and very welcoming. Ideal for enjoying nature at its best.

Notes
To access Cape Alava you must cross a wooden walkway for about 5 km from one of the park ranger posts.
