Cape Engela - northernmost point of continental Africa and Tunisia

Cape Engela - northernmost point of continental Africa and Tunisia

A large, stainless steel map of Africa is overlooking the Mediterranean Sea on the west end of the Ras Engela beach (sometimes also called Ras Angela). It presides the Cape of the same name and signals the northernmost continental point of mainland Tunisia and Africa.

Cape Engela is located in an area of great natural beauty, surrounded by beautiful beaches and lush greenery that exude scent of pines.

There you will also find a lighthouse which was built in 1890 under the French protectorate that lasted from 1881 to 1956. In fact, some have associated the name of this point with the wife of the former resident general in those years, Justin Massicault.

Would you like to add two MOSTPOINTS to your profile in one trip? Seize the opportunity! In front you have the Galite, the Tunisian archipelago that marks the end point of the country and of Africa including islands.
