Everest Base Camp - EBC - trek

The Everest Base Camp or EBC trek means 133 km / 83 mi walking, slopes up and down about 7,500 m / 24,600 ft, unpredictable weather conditions and hard physical effort. The time required to complete the course and fundamentally altitude, are a real handicap for outsiders and make this trek one of the most emblematic on the planet.

Yes, the reward is worth it. Seeing with your own eyes the Cho Oyu, Makalu and Lhotse, among many others 8000’s, all under the watchful eye of the majestic Everest, is an unforgettable experience. If in addition to this you add the direct contact with the Sherpa people, learning their culture, their customs enjoying and sharing their traditions, the adventure is unmatched.

What else is there
Lukla is located at about 2,800 m /9,200 ft. Its airport, the start of this MOSTPOINT, is considered one of the most dangerous in the world. However many people choose to get there by plane from Kathmandu anyway. Others go walking from Jiri, located one week away. This is where the trek to the Base Camp begins. The next point of supply is Namche Bazaar, about two days of walking, where the altitude acclimatization begins. This city is considered the gateway to the Himalayas. If you drop by there on a Saturday, do not miss the weekly market.

Notes
The best time to do this trek is during the dry season, from October to May, October and November being the best months.
