GR20 Corsica

GR20 Corsica

With the Mediterranean as a witness, the GR20 is one of the most beautiful long distance hiking trails in the world and one of the toughest in Europe. It runs from the village of Calenzana, in the northeast of the island, to Conca, in the southeast. The route covers 180 km which is usually done in a fortnight. Along the route you enjoy unforgettable landscapes, lush forests, capricious geological formations, crystal clear lakes and steep climbs but with gifts that are well worth the effort: the views from up there are really amazing.

The path has become more popular thanks to the creation of the Natural Park of Corsica. It is well signposted and has shelters.

What else is there
No wonder that Corsica has seduced personalities like the painter Henri Matisse or writer Antoine Sain-Exupéry. With its mountains and turquoise waters with the glamor of its marinas and the beauty of its cities and its taste for good cheese and wine, Corsica offers something for everyone; from kitesurfing and canyoning to gastronomic and cultural tourism. Do not miss Sant 'Antonino and Piana, two of the most beautiful villages of the country, the Agriates desert and Stonehenge, declared an archaeological World Heritage site by UNESCO. There are other interesting hiking trails on the island. Including the "Mare a Mare" and "Mare e Monti" connecting Cargèse to Calenzana.

Notes
The cumulative altitude is some 22,000 m / 72,000 ft.
