Titicaca - World's highest navigable lake

It is located in the Central Andes, on the plateau of Collao, at 3,812 m /12,505 ft altitude above the sea. It consists of two bodies of water separated by the Strait of Tiquina. The largest, called Chucuito, measuring about 6,500 km2 / 4,400 sq mi  and the smallest, called Huiñamarca, about 2,100 km2 / 1305 sq mi. In its entirety, the depth ranges between 45 m / 148 ft and 283 m /928 ft. More than 25 rivers are flowing into it, being the largest Ramis, Huenque, Coata and Suches.

In addition to the Strait of Tiquina, here you can find islands that hide authentic cultural treasures like Esteves and Kona, places of sanctity as the Isthmus of Yunguyo, the division between Peru and Bolivia in the Copacabana peninsula, the peninsulas of Chucuito and Achacachi Capachica and the beaches of Capachica, Juli and Copacabana.

Notes
Descendants of the Aymara, Quechua and Urus tribes are closely connected with this lake, creating along its banks incessant business.
